Frame 01 / Caption Counter

Write it once. See exactly where it gets cut.

Paste your Instagram caption and watch it against the limits that actually matter: the character cap, the feed truncation point, and your hashtag count.

Frame 03 / Hashtag Checker

Thirty slots. Make each one count.

Common questions

What's the Instagram caption character limit?

Instagram allows up to 2,200 characters in a caption. That's the hard cap: go past it and the platform won't accept the post until you trim it down.

How much of my caption shows before "…more"?

In the feed, only roughly the first 125 characters show before Instagram truncates the caption and shows a "…more" link. Everything past that point only gets read by people who tap through.

What image size does Instagram want for posts?

A square feed post is 1080×1080px, a portrait post is 1080×1350px, and Stories or Reels are 1080×1920px. Uploading at these exact sizes avoids Instagram's own automatic cropping.

How many hashtags can I use on Instagram?

Instagram caps hashtags at 30 per post. In practice, using fewer, more specific tags tends to outperform maxing out the limit with generic ones.

Is any of this uploaded to a server?

No. Every tool on this page (the counters, the image resizer, the hashtag checker) runs entirely in your browser using JavaScript and the Canvas API. Nothing you type or upload is sent anywhere.
